The 2012 International Geoscience and Remote Sensing Symposium (IGARSS) is being held in Munich, Germany, on 22–27 July. The deadline for early-bird and authors registration is 1 June.
It will be the 32nd annual IGARSS event, continuing the tradition of providing a forum for world-class scientists, engineers and educators to obtain up-to-date information about the latest developments in remote sensing, exchange ideas and identify research trends and make contacts with the international remote-sensing community.
This year’s conference is set to be more interesting than ever and will also celebrate the 50th birthday of the IEEE Geoscience and Remote Sensing Society.
The technical programme committee co-chair Prof. Irena Hajnsek from the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology Zurich said, “Around 85% of the submitted papers were very high quality, so we have kept most of them and increased the number of technical sessions.

ALI, the Association for Logic in India, announces the next edition of its biennial (International) Indian Conference on Logic and its Applications (ICLA), to be held at the Institute of Mathematical Sciences, Chennai, from January 10 to 12, 2013. ICLA is a forum for bringing together researchers from a wide variety of fields that formal logic plays a significant role in, along with mathematicians, philosophers and logicians studying foundations of formal logic in itself. The conference has also included studies in systems of logic in the Indian tradition, and historical research on logic.
This year's speakers will include Joseph Halpern, Martin Otto, Mark Reynolds and Gabriel Sandu.
Authors are invited to submit papers presenting original and unpublished research in any area of logic and applications. Papers on topics of current interest in pure and applied logic, foundations and philosophy of mathematics and the sciences, set theory, model theory, proof theory, areas of theoretical computer science, artificial intelligence and other disciplines which are of direct interest to mathematical and philosophical logic, as well as articles on the relationship between logic and other branches of knowledge, or on history of logic, are welcome. The International Conference Logic, Argumentation and Critical Thinking III is a new academic effort of our Centre to continue to try not only to deepen and update the production of knowledge in the fields that this conference covers, but also to contribute to a positive valuation of different proposals that develop critical thinking and promote social debate with a standard of reasonableness.
This Conference, organized by the Centre for the Study of Argumentation and Reasoning (CEAR) of the Faculty of Psychology at Diego Portales University, would like to generate tools, approaches and solutions to apply in those fields in which the uses of reason is fundamental: communication, law, education, etc. We do not have an official theoretical position, but rather we value the diversity of angles and proposals.

Latest advances in multimedia content encoding and representation, including HDTV, 3DTV, multi-view video and associated added-value interactive services, are offering to the end user a truly rich multimedia experience. At the same time advances in communications systems and network technologies give the ability to apply in-network processing techniques in order to take advantage of the available user and media contextual information for efficient, flexible and auto-configurable media transmission. ICERI2012 (5th International Conference of Education Research and Innovation)
On behalf of the Organising Committee we are glad to invite you to take part in the fifth Annual Edition of ICERI2012 (5th International Conference of Education, Research and Innovation) that will be held in Madrid (Spain) on the 19th, 20th and 21st of November, 2012.
ICERI2012 will be an International Forum for those who wish to present their projects and innovations, having also the opportunity to discuss the main aspects and the latest results in the field of Education and Research.
The general aim of the conference is to promote international collaboration in Education and Research in all educational fields and disciplines. The attendance of more than 700 delegates from 70 different countries is expected.
We invite you to submit your abstracts and to attend in order to share your achievements in the fields of education and collaborative research. The deadline for submitting abstracts is July 19th, 2012.
There will be three presentation modalities: Oral and poster presentations (in-person) and virtual (for those who can not attend in person)

Binaural / Nodar at the 6th Open House – International Feast of Architecture (Viseu)
6th Open House – International Feast of Architecture at the Catholic University of Viseu
Organization: Architecture Department at the Catholic University of Viseu (Portugal)

Binaural / Nodar is currently preparing a strategic partnership with the department of architecture at the Catholic University of Viseu, which will be developed in two complementary fields:
a) Co-organization of a social project of rehabilitation of the architectural heritage of the traditional villages, entitled “Terra Amada” (“Beloved Land”), which will have the involvement of local communities, teachers and students of architecture, of the Viseu diocesys, sponsor materials construction, etc..
b) Co-organization of a workshop that will mark the opening of the academic year 2012-2013. This workshop, to be attended by all students of the architecture course, will consist in a two-day fieldwork program for the students to later present models, posters and slide presentations with new ideas for both existing and new buildings in the rural villages of Gralheira Mountain Range.
In this regard, and in the context of the 6th Open House, Binaural / Nodar will present on June 5 at 10:30 a multimedia lecture on its activities and will participate in the presentation of the two mentioned initiatives, along with the director and vice-director of the architecture department; Architects Antonio Carvalho and Fernando Goncalves. Binaural / Nodar will be represented by Luís Costa, president and Maria Carlos Valverde, coordinator of the actions related to architecture.
